The Full Monty is back! 25 years after the low-budget British film took the world by storm, Disney has commissioned a sequel TV series.
The show will air on Disney+ later this year in eight 60-minute episodes and will feature all of the original cast.
An astonishing story to be resurrected 25 years after the fact, The Full Monty is sure to be one of the most anticipated shows of 2023, particularly in the UK where a stage version of the film has toured successfully for the last few years.

The release date of the Full Monty
No official release date has been confirmed, but Disney has said The Full Monty will stream on Disney+ in June.
What is The Full Monty about?
The Full Monty is a direct sequel to the film of the same name and will take place 25 years after the events of the Oscar-winning film.
A comedy-drama in the same vein as the original, the show will follow the original band of brothers long after they’ve stopped getting into the buff.
Shot on location in Sheffield, the now middle-aged men are still coping with life in a post-industrial city and the challenges of unemployment and issues such as healthcare and education.
Who will star in The Full Monty?
The good news is that all the movie favorites are back. Robert Carlyle will once again drive as Gaz, who has led the boys on their strip expedition so they can see his son.
Mark Addy is back as Dave, Tom Wilkinson will once again play Gerald, Paul Barber is Horse, Steve Huison is back as Lomper, Lesley Sharp plays Jean, Will Snape plays Nathan and Hugo Speer will reprise his role as Guy.
New cast additions include Miles Jupp as a housing worker, Talitha Wing as Gaz’s teenage daughter, Paul Clayton as Lomper’s husband, and Brotherhood actor Arnold Oceng will play a graffiti artist.
What is Hugo Speer’s involvement?
While he was confirmed to star in the show via a Disney press release, many questions remain about how much Hugo Speer will appear in The Full Monty.
The actor was fired from the show last year over allegations of inappropriate behavior on the set of the production.
At the time, Disney said, “Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Hugo Speer on the set of a commissioned production. As usual, an investigation has been launched. Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his contract, effective immediately.
